African Wildlife

My photography and continued love for wildlife grew even deeper whilst I worked on a private reserve in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. In any given drive, we would role past herds of zebra, towers of giraffe, and even driving through the elephant herd. Night fall came with the chorus of bugs and birds, the cackle of hyaena and even the distant rumbling from the elephant herd.

Whilst every minute spent in the bush was magical, with each day I spent living there, reality of life on a reserve became clear. As the occasional gun shot shattered nature's evening song, the anti-poaching teams patrolled the fence lines and 4500 ha of land, and the rhinos moved under armed guard. Though these animals were heavily protected, poaching was an ever present threat to all the animals on the reserve. This is the life that wildlife lives at present.
